here come the missiles
and nuclear bombs

and the people
were afraid
men and women and children
broke windows in department stores
and jumped back out clutching
clothes and radios
and expensive pocket watches
not realizing that with
the news of doom
time is finite

musicians wrote songs
poets wrote poems

and a baby got left
at home because
in a day it wont matter
that shes hungry
all became descended
and chaos

this was the day they found
the last number
and discovered that time
and space
and the universe
was not infinite

a week later
one of the scientists
found an error in their
calculations
